A slower than normal computer has some amount of spyware, adware, spambots, trojans and viruses, all collectively known as malware. When a computer slows down, intermittently crashes, shuts down by itself, won't boot or shut down correctly, or cannot access the Internet, or warning windows pop up, it's time to restore the Windows operating system. Understand that the restoration or recovery disks or partitions that come with your computer will usually erase everything, including your data and programs, before re-installing Windows, and will only install the old Operating System (OS) that may no longer be supported by Microsoft. Electronic Specialists has the programs below that can help you get your computer working as perfectly as it once did before. Read everything below and select the options that you need. 1: Basic Restoration $99: At your home, we will install your original OS and internal hardware drivers, returning your computer to as-purchased condition, and get you back on the internet. We will NOT: save any data, install any hardware, install additional programs, viewers, security, or Windows updates. If you are a very experienced computer user, you are free to do this yourself and save some money. The list of recommended updates that we install in program 3 is shown below. 2: Basic restoration with data recovery $175: You must have less than 2GB of data for us to do this in your home, and this will take up to three hours. We will save your documents, desktop, favorites, and any other data that you must select (up to 2GB) on the "Data to save" section, then we will erase your infected OS, install a fresh Windows OS, move your data back into the restored OS, install your printer (unless you lost your CD driver) and setup your internet and email, and install an Internet security program. We will NOT update Windows but will set Windows to update automatically. You must install your programs, viewers, and remaining hardware yourself. If you decide after this service has been done that you would like us to install updates, programs and hardware, we will do this additionally at $20/quarter. Note that if you have more than 2GB of data, or on most HP and Compaq computers, you must choose Program 3. 3: Advanced restoration with data recovery and all updates $250: Our best program must be done at our facility because advanced restorations take between seven and twenty hours. We will pick up your computer and redeliver it usually in a day or two. We will save all data up to 10GB (If you have more than 10GB of data, perhaps lots of music, pictures or videos, there will be an additional $2 per GB charge), then we will restore Windows and update all service packs, critical security updates and web browser, add Adobe and Microsoft viewers, and add a free web security program. We will also make expert-recommended registry changes to Windows such as removing known bugs and limitations and adding usability features, then return the computer to you and set up your hardware and internet connection and show you how to use the included Internet protection program (limited to one hour). Times beyond one hour will be additional, billed at $20 per quarter. There are some situations and facts that you must be aware of and agree to: Saving data could also possibly save virus and downloaded malware programs, infected websites in your favorites, macro viruses in your documents folder, rootkit malware in downloaded pictures, along with other unwanted and harmful garbage. We will save all of the data in your My Documents folder, on your Desktop, your address book, email folders and downloads, and your Favorites/Bookmarks. You may also be saving whatever malware that hurt your computer in the first place. We will scan all saved data for known malware, but understand that nothing is perfect, and we give no guarantees that your data is perfectly safe. We only save data. That means files that you have made in the My Documents folder, which includes music, pictures, Excel spreadsheets and so on. We will also look for and save the Outlook Express address book, Outlook data and settings, Thunderbird profiles, Mozilla Bookmarks, IE Favorites, and Desktop data. If you use out-of-date or non-standard programs that save data in places not mentioned above, such as old Quicken/Quickbooks, or TurboTax, or Works data, you must indicate this and any additional data that you wish to save from any programs you use on the "Data to save" section. We will not be responsible for data lost that is not marked by you or us to save. Some data might not be saved, it may be damaged or erased. All saved data will be checked with anti-virus and anti-spyware programs before restoring. We do not save programs, as these must be reinstalled with your original CDs, unless they are old DOS or 16-bit programs in their own folder, or downloaded programs in your download folder, assuming you have one. If you don't have your original programs on CDs, or if you didn't save downloaded programs, we may be able to supply them at an additional charge. Otherwise, we will install only what you give us; any programs you are missing is your responsibility to obtain. RECOMMENDED UPDATES SECTION These are the updates that we install with program 3, and we advise users of programs 1 and 2 to install these as well: AGREEMENT: The computer owner/user (You, Yours) and EDS, Inc d/b/a Electronic Specialists (We, Us) agree to the terms and services as shown above. You will pay Us after We have finished our work and when You are satisfied with our service provided to You. Payments may be Check, Cash, Paypal, or any credit card that we accept. We guarantee that Your computer will be totally free of any running malware while We are still at your location, and that the Windows OS has been installed exactly as Microsoft has provided the software to You or Us. We will not be responsible for the Windows OS being corrupted by any malware downloaded or installed by You or any one else using Your computer after we have left Your location. Reasonable telephone support is provided free to help You if You re-infect Your computer but if You wish for Us to restore Your computer again, the cost will be as chosen in the original agreement for the same service. We abide by Florida State and Palm Beach County laws and do prosecute for stopping payment under Florida Chapter 98-297 subsection (1) 68.065. |
